Welcome to the ‘Hemo Control’ game!
Hemo stands for Hemophilia, a rare hereditary disorder for males in which your blood doesn't clot normally. This means there is a higher chance on (internal) bleedings, and effects of bleedings are worse.
Treatment consist of medicine that replaces the clotting factor through a tube placed in a vein. With Hemophilia, you must take this medicine infusion 2 to 3 times a week.
Control stands for ‘control over your life’. Being on a strict medication schedule dictates your pace of life. Moreover, risk on bleedings might make you inactive, causing health issues in a later stage of your life.
What if we can come up with a way of offering more freedom in planning medication and activities? With this game data is collected anonymously in order to analyze possible strategies for activities and medication infusions planning.
This way, the Hemophilia Treatment Center Nijmegen-Eindhoven-Maastricht wants to take a first step aiding people with hemophilia in talking control over their lives instead of in control of this disease!
